The Clean Tech Business Group: Shropshire Net Zero Leaders Programme
Shropshire Net Zero Leaders is a fully funded support initiative for businesses in the area who wish to measure and manage their carbon impacts, with a particular focus on cutting emissions along the supply chain. The programme is delivered by The Clean Tech Business Group on behalf of Shropshire Council. SWM were commissioned by The Clean Tech Business Group to provide support including stakeholder engagement and contribution of technical expertise.

Coventry University Services (CUS): Clean Futures Masterclasses
SWM were commissioned by CUS to deliver 10 masterclasses as part of the Clean Futures Programme. This is one of the five West Midland Combined Authority (WMCA) Innovation Accelerators, funded by Innovate UK with a total of £33 million, set up to help drive forward the West Midlands Plan for Growth by supporting and accelerating innovation in Cleantech and MedTech. The Clean Futures Programme is focussed on supporting SMEs in the development and diversification of transport and associated manufacturing supply chains in the West Midlands, enabling the transition from fossil fuel to clean-tech solutions.

International Synergies Ltd (ISL): West Midlands Resource Reuse Network
The West Midlands Resource Reuse Network (WMRRN) aims to deliver cost and carbon savings for companies managing wastewater, sand and sludge waste streams by identifying reuse opportunities that divert the waste stream from disposal. The network is delivered on behalf of the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA). SWM were commissioned by ISL to support delivery of the network and provide stakeholder engagement and technical expertise.

Malvern Hills National Landscape: Adapting the MHNL to Climate Change
SWM worked with the National Landscape team at Worcestershire County Council (WCC) to develop a climate change adaptation plan for the Malvern Hills National Landscape.

Using our experience of supporting local authorities with climate change adaptation, SWM was commissioned by Oxfordshire County Council on behalf of the Future Oxfordshire Partnership to produce a Climate Change Adaptation Route Map for the county.

Midlands Net Zero Hub: Low Carbon Environmental Goods and Services Sector Refresh 2025
SWM and kMatrix were commissioned by the Midlands Net Zero Hub to conduct a refresh to the original Low Carbon Environmental Goods & Services (LCEGS) Sector study, giving an understanding of the current state of the sector in the Midlands, where support is needed to grow the sector, and how the sector has recovered following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rugby Borough Council: Adapting Rugby Borough to Climate Change
Using our experience of supporting local authorities with climate change adaptation, SWM was commissioned by Rugby Borough Council to produce a Climate Change Adaptation Plan for the borough, a climate change risk assessment, and a Technical Report that analyses how climate change may affect Rugby Borough in future.

West Midlands Combined Authority: West Midlands Net Zero Business Pledge
The West Midlands Net Zero Business Pledge was launched by Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street, in March 2021 and now has over 100 pledged organisations including many SWM members such as National Express West Midlands and Mott MacDonald.

Environment Agency: Scaling up the climate change adaptation response in the West Midlands
We have worked in collaboration with the Environment Agency for the past two years to help accelerate and scale-up the region’s response to climate change adaptation. While there is an increasing recognition that we are experiencing a greater number and intensity of extreme weather events, progress on dealing with their risks and impacts remains slow. This collaboration aims to drive forward activity across multiple sectors in the region, to increase resilience and encourage adaptation action.
